Aww, would love to be there.... A question? How much will it cost RAAF for a single F22 and F35? And what is the difference between USAAF and export version namely RAAF? And what is the top speed for both crafts, with and or without afterburners?

I agree mate. We need to officially request the F22 before Congress will look at releasing it for us. I have proof that Lockheed Martin has an export version of the F22 from day 1 with Aust in mind. They're still perplexed why we never asked for it. USAF want us to have it as well. They see it as good as having a handfull of squadrons of their own sitting in this part of the world. I'd be happy a hi-lo mix of 70 F22's and 25 F35B's for our Air Warfare Destroyers.

Congress isn't the problem either. They'll give it to us if we want it. The price diff between an F22 and an F35 will be negligible if you take into consideration the per unit price drop if we order Raptors and the way the F35 is climbing every day. The USAF want us to order them so that they can order more at the cheaper price. mate, there's lots of reasons to get 'em and no reasons why we can't.

yeah , well possibly somthing like 50 F-22 raptors with mix roles between air to air superiority and strike roles and about 80 F-35A's and 20 F-35B's for the navy with the 3rd canberra class Helicopter ship converted to STOVL capability like the navy requested.

I love ya thinkin' mate, but you've just spent a shit load of cash. :-) Forget the F35A's all together. F22 can now hold its own in air to ground. They've even got stealthy weapons and fuel pods for the underwing pylons. Beautiful. Give us 25 or F35B's for the Navy. that's heaps. Again, love ya thinking.

only thing is we need a small agile fighter that is cheap imo, the F-16 is old and what they call disposable, maybe rafale or Eurofighter but they are rather expensive.

but yeah mate i fully agree with ya, maybe they should make us the head of air defence! haha
