its not really a paradox so much as a work that involves the participation and self involvement of the audience in meaning creation. the viewer who is aware of themselves and the activity by which they absorb and comprehend media and reality, will be able to make this conceptual leap and complete the meaning making process by analogy (them-kids). a work that can be successful in this regard is dope

its kind of eery to think of the idea of parents teaching kids to keep their mouths closed. i wonder how much it subtly encourages silence and censored speech/ideas
