The RAF are acquiring navy varients of the F22 raptors with STOVL in 2012 and the UK are the 2nd highest investor after the USA in the F22 development
So the UK will make use of it as well

-"However, the fight will never happen."
I do believe most peeps are talking about MOCK engagements, not real ones.
That said, keep in mind that the EF will probably be sold to any "ally" that's willing to pay for it. And history has shown that on occasion, today's ally might become tomorrow's enemy. So...

I'm glad my brothers in EURO and America are supream allies. the FA-22 vs typhoon would be messy, anthough we know which is more superior. *caugh* FA *caugh* 22 However, the fight will never happen. US and EU have too much in common as far as enemys to lose each others friendship.

-"my mate who is in the RAF said that the thing about the Eurofighter, is that because it is specifically designed to be unstable"
Tell your "mate" that every US fighter after (and including) the F-16 has been designed that way.
I know the Britsh always get jumpy about not being told they are the best, but in this case they are not. This is not me being all 'waaay American' either, the Raptor is better than anything in the RAF arsenal, sorry. :)

So the UK will make use of it as well"
You're talking about the JSF/F-35B, not the F-22.
The UK has no involvement in the F-22 program.
