Blue2318 is of course quite right. But what is really surprising (and frightening): how many people (leading lights: TheShinyDemon: These people are just complete idiots though; pottsy2k08: that women must have been so dumb lol) lack basic self-awareness and think they wouldn't fall for this trick AND suggest it's funny to throw abuse at Derren's apparent victims. We are in sewer-territory here. Shame on them (and Derren for showing this). Anything for a few TV ratings points! Reinhard

Yeh, I understand what you mean, change of ethnicities is huge and I also agree that this would not have worked in every case but whether it worked or not was not a result of their intelligence it was a combination of the change blindness idea and what I said, his manipulation of the widely verified phenomenen that if the brain concentrates on one thing it's comprehension of another vastly diminshes. Derren Brown has exploited existing knowledge of physchology here, nothing groundbreaking.

Also, it's to do with the fact the person is focussing their attention the directions as opposed to the person they're giving the directions to

Im pretty sure I'd notice if the person I was talking to changed ethnicities, ie. WHITE to BLACK. They probably did this a few times and only showed the real morons..

..Then again, it is Derren Brown, and I dont really think he cuts too much out of his show. These people are just complete idiots though

They should've done Derren -> Black chick, for shits'n'giggles. It might've worked.
