That's the master Elvin Jones, of course. And I'm assuming you meant 'cold' in a good way, not as in unfeeling, because Elvin is the epitome of drumming with feel.

I actually saw him last year...and sadly I have to say he's -really- not like he used to be. He hardly soloed, and seemed to be in quite a bad condition both physically and technically as a pianist...

Coltrane is the best and this song in particular blows my mind, i love when coltrane starts his solo after the long piano solo.

no, he goes way out man. Listen to all the non-harmonic tones. They sometimes play it like an F7 chord.
