no kemdo was founded first. Vietnamese originally created created kemdo, then the koreans took it in and made it more official, then the japanese took it in and made it even more official.

kumdo was created by koreans but the japanese took it added rules and stuff like that and made it mainstream kendo.

Haha! yeah maybe i thought kendo was weird cause i watched to many movies. youre right i guess movies ARE really nothing like it would be in a real sword fight

it acutally mentions that form a text i read up on. Kendo that is depicted in movies dont have that realistic value like you see in real kendo because in the feudal times of the samurai it is a killing art and duels usually occur at least five seconds.With the kendo in movies the fight seems endless after exchanging blade for blade

In order to score a hit in kendo, a person must strike at a certain location (head, rt wrist, or rt side of the torso). At the same time of the strike, they must have a strong kiai (the yelling/screaming) and a good follow through. Though they do strike, not all the strikes were valid.
