Cheney '94: Invading Baghdad Would Create Quagmire C-SPAN

In this interview from April 15th, 1994 Dick Cheney reveals the reasons why invading Baghdad and toppling Saddam Hussein's regime wouldn't be a great idea. He also stipulates that "not very many" American soldiers' lives were worth losing to take out Saddam during the Gulf War.

Not to mention one missing/captured, 167 died of self-inflicted wounds, 144,003 U.S. wounded, over 8700 Iraqi security forces dead, and AT LEAST 85,000 Iraqi civilians dead.

So Cheney, how many was Saddam worth again?

But for the 146 Americans killed in action, and for their families, it wasnt a cheap war. And the question for the president, in terms of whether we went on to Baghdad, took additional casualties in an effort to take down Saddam Hussein, was: how many additional dead Americans is Saddam worth? And our judgment was: not very many, and I think we got it right.

Maybe he should have stuck to his initial judgment. This war: 4201 American military deaths, plus 314 other coalition soldiers.

Actually he did...by helping to pass the largest increase in military death benefit from $12,000 to $100,000

I'd like to know if he sits on the board of any of the charities that he donates too, or if he governs those charities in some way.

One charity DICK should donate to are the families who lost children and loved ones...babies missing limbs, Soldiers suffering from PTSD, families of soldiers that took the ultimate loss for Cheney's greed.

I'd really like to see Cheney's stock portfolio, and what he's raked in off the blood of our young americans....and what charities he's donated to....I'd LOVE to see that!

...I'll tell you what happened to him....he stood to make millions of dollars via halliburton and susidiaries by going to war in Iraq under GW. It makes one wonder sometimes, how many millions one has to make to improve their standard of living. How is DICK better off now...having more millions than before? And these millions made from the best blood of this generation?
