I hate to nitpick, but why are the soldiers wearing World War era helmets and wielding M16's?

Does no one realise that this was an anti-statement to the films that were coming out of America at the time, where being a Private Benjamine, officer and a gentleman and a Topgun were considered cool

She was singing against the promo- films that glamourised being in the army.

Why does everything have to be taken so seriously...this is just an opinion made by a singer...it's a good song and people should learn to enjoy the music rather than pick at it and disect it to the point where it is no longer enjoyable... I love Kate Bush.

the line should have been a father (mother) reminds me of those who have lost their lives in this stupid Iraq war...hope u F***ing MP's enjoy spending your £40k pay rise, dont worry about the familys they will freeze in winter to make sure u reach ur p*ssing global warming initiatives..we all know its bullshit stealth taxation to pay for a war we didnt want...how many more lives till the debt is paid?
