nozick is nowhere close to an anarchist. he supports minimal government (minarchism) and capitalism, both of which are considered by anarchists to be coersive and authoritarian systems. but even if he did oppose ALL government, that would make him an "anarcho-capitalist", which is a false and contradictory brand of anarchism, and is detested by all TRUE anarchists. he calls himself a libertarian, a term which was originally used by anarchists, but has now come to mean "minarcho-capitalist".

chomsky opposes state controlled socialst idealogies such as social democracy and communism (as designed by marx, lenin, stalin, mao, castro, etc.). he is a libertarian socialist, an umbrella term, under which TRUE anarchist idealogies fall.

Chomsky is not an anarchist. Anarchy means not believing in the state. Chomsky is a socialist and socialism has the most intrusive and biggest state of all.

Socialism is a system in which things are produced for a human end, with the means of production in common ownership. It does not necessitate statism. Capitalism, on the other hand, does. A state is necessary to protect the property of the few from the masses.

He advocates voluntary small-scale collectivism. Not state-controlled socialism are you are referring to.
