Air explosion with Afterburn in 3dsmax 9

In this quick and concise video tutorial, I am going to demo you how to create realistic air explosion with SitniSati Afterburn 3.2. We are going to set up a simple particle system by using Superspray, adding gravity and wind forces to it. Finally, add Afterburn volumertic shader to the particle to give smoking looking.

Hi there. I've always had problems getting my AfterBurn particles to FADE out. There's no opacity value for the particle texture, only for the coverage, size, etc.

I generally make the coverage go down and make the blur go up over the particle life. That makes the particle go from fire to smoke to invisible, basically, but I still feel that it's not the right way to do it.

How did you make your particles fade out? I've seen in done in a Supreme Commander cinematic too.
