Well, not all D's have the radome above the head, just the longbows, but another difference is D models have their air data sensors and anti collision lights mounted on the engine nacelle, and A model's lights are on the wing, and the mast on the head is the air datat sensor

what advantages does the apache have to the russian attack helicopters and vice versa

apache has much better avionics. this has been the advantage of US developments in aircraft for a long time... the russians can make a good airframe, but their avionics suck.
