AH-1Z will not be ready for awhile but UH-1Y is ready for combat and is currently deployed when this monster engages youll hear about it

I was in HML/A-167 on the east coast and they were talking around having mission ready squadrons around 2009 or 2010......still not really sure

Not the Ka-50. The Israeli-modified Ka-50-2 is impressive, but the original Russian trash hauler is scary only to rebels in Chechnya that dont have tanks. Ask any living former Iraqi tank operator just how scary AH-1Zs are.

I thought they had a very capable air to air capability, i.e anti Apache. They are very fast and incredibly maneuverable. Granted the avionics etc would be old school, but with good AA missiles they would be formidable. They were meant to have a lot of good auto pilot features and simple weapons delivery for one pilot operation. They could be modernised well, like the Alligator and the Z Cobra.
