The Fairchild-Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat, twin-engine jet aircraft designed to provide close air support (CAS) of ground forces by attacking tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets. As a secondary mission, it provides airborne forward air control, guiding other attack aircraft against ground targets. It is the first US Air Force aircraft designed exclusively for close air support (CAS) of ground forces. The official nickname comes from the P-47 Thunderbolt of World War II, a plane that was particularly effective at the CAS mission. However, the A-10 is more commonly known as Warthog or simply Hog. In the USAF inventory, the same airframe is also designated OA-10 when used primarily in a forward air control role.

great weapon, Soviets churned out 100,000 T55 tanks giving them a ludicrous numbers advantage then the A-10 came along and made them as obsolete as biplanes. Hell, even the T72 isn't safe, planes like these destroy the popular soviet doctrine of mass tank assault.

In my opinion, tanks are too damn vulnerable on the modern battlefield, with so many smart munitions flying up their ass, you're better off flying.

Which barrel did you stick your hand into? Pretty hard seeing 30mil rounds are only an inch+ a bit in diameter. You must have really thin hands.

awesome game man love the plane, but you should try fliying it in a simulator game like lomac, you get such a great feeling from PWNING SUM N00BS in a sortie lol yeah anyway battlefield is great, long live teh A-10
