the national guard actually does a pretty good job(overall). we just replaced a ng unit down here. there are a lot of shitty squads throughout the army though and looks like those truckers had one of em. hey, they knew the risks of working out here, and unfortunately look what happened.

It's not all the N.G., the 1173rd is the that had NO concern for American lives. True the drivers knew the risk, but it doesn't change the fact that they had the chance to be saved and this unit to be know as heros. Their decision lives on forever now. The 1173rd will always be known as cowards in the face of the enemy.

Screw your interpretation of convoy escort SOP. That the guntruck in front of KBR 5 beat feet was bullshit! They left an American behind in the killzone, knowing damn well he'd probably get captured or killed within minutes!
My guntruck cmdr's SOP was, regardless of BN SOP: Stop, move back to disabled truck, provide cover-fire to all sectors, TC jumps out to get the KBR driver, pile his ass in the M1114, and THEN leave the kill-zone! I WILL NOT LEAVE A FALLEN COMRADE! We never lost a driver!
