ThomsonFly 757 bird strike & flames captured on video
BackThis incident was video recorded by Simon Lowe. 233 people where on board this jet bound for Lanzarote. The number 2 engine sucks in one bird (a crow or corvid) as the plane rotates off the runway.
T.V. news reports of two herons being sucked in are wrong.
Congratulations to the crew and air-traffic controllers for the calm and professional way they dealt with the situation. Please checkout more video's by me on Flightlevel350.com.

Everyone will lose a day on there holidays now :( Unlucky... Or they could be lucky and have an extra day there... With the black cloud in the background i doubt it though :D

KDAY24: there are at least 3 famous crash that i know of that involves a 757. 2 because of the pitot tube problem which led to crew crash the plane. One is Aeroperu 603, the other is ALW301. And one because the crew of American 965 flew the plane into mountains due to the mishandling of FMC

From the radio comments, they left the number 1 engine running, and with one engine running, they should be able to keep everything up and running.
They might have fired it up (the APU) in case they were required for some reason to shut down their other engine.
